Curtis L. Hill Jr., better known as s.P. The Writer (s.P. = silent poet) in the arts community is a resident of Raleigh, NC, by way of Maysville, NC. As a silent poet, s.P. taps artists across the country to present his written works on stage in The Inkspired Experience.
s.P. has taken a captivating route with his alternative poetry show. Using original formatting to attract new audiences to the arts and having a knack for creative collaboration, he has strategically taken Inkspired from 13 people at the first show to over 500 attendees by the sixth.
Over these first few experiences, entities like WUNC-NPR and The Wright Village have taken notice, garnering paid sponsorships. A partnership with SEEK Raleigh (experimental art projects backed by Raleigh Arts) birthed the debut theatrical performance of DEAD MAN TALKING. The piece, addressing innocent people being murdered on death row, was performed by Mike Wiley and special guest Colin Watson and involved a custom-built electric chair and hologram technology. The United Arts Council of Wake County has also granted multiple awards (an Artist Grant and a Community Spotlight Project Grant) supporting s.P.'s efforts.
s.P. currently focuses on elevating The Inkspired Experience in offering and attendance. With his sights set on having 3000 people in one room to experience poetry, he is tweaking marketing efforts and offering critical attention to further streamlining production and his artistic ideas.
The next Inkspired Experience will be in late 2025 in Raleigh, NC.
